• Anxiety and loss of motivation to continue treating patients and thereby expose herself to the risks of persecution – along with sleep disturbances, rises in blood pressure, night sweats and depressive episodes; the development of burnout symptoms
• Loss of trust in fair treatment by the medical associations and the courts; the experience that many doctors have been treated and convicted unfairly is causing her trust in the rule of law to vanish
• The conviction is taking hold that she has ended up in a fascist system in which human dignity and the right to physical integrity no longer apply
• Medical professional law (Sections 2–4), according to which doctors must, where necessary, side with patients even against state directives, is experienced as a farce
• An emigration plan is being formed (not yet completed); bringing retirement forward by at least 8 years

She did not speak about it, as others were affected far more severely.

Press reactions

The incident described did not become public. However, because she distributed leaflets to inform people about vaccine side effects, she was named by a nationwide daily newspaper and framed as supposedly right-wing extremist – which is absurd, but has damaged her reputation. On account of the leaflets, a further medical association also tried to take action against her (January/February 2022); this did not succeed, however, as she had backed up all statements in the leaflet with sources – which did not stop the association from nonetheless trying to intimidate her.

Outlook

In spite of everything, I would act in the same way again. For one thing, the public must learn what dangers are now known. For another, my patients had a right to an individual medical assessment, and I had the duty to give it to them. I hope that this documentation helps the public learn what has happened to doctors in this country – and that something like this does not happen again, and that doctors’ freedom of therapy is even enshrined in the constitution! Otherwise, human lives are no longer worth anything!
