As a specialist in General Medicine and additionally as a specialist in Pharmacology and Toxicology, Dr. Bianca Witzschel possesses specialist expertise on active substances and their risks. Drawing on this competence, she critically questioned the so-called anti-Corona measures and in particular the modRNA injections from the outset – exactly as her profession demanded of her.
In its reasons for judgment, the Dresden Regional Court did acknowledge that she wanted to protect her patients, but – according to her defense – did not even begin to examine whether and to what extent her actions, precisely because of her specialist expertise, could have been justified or at least excused.

As far as is publicly visible, solidarity with Dr. Witzschel predominates among doctors speaking out under their own names. Colleagues who have publicly distanced themselves or made condemning statements cannot be found online.
A public condemnation of the specific Witzschel case by medical professional organizations is not publicly documented. The Saxon State Medical Association (SLÄK) had already in 2020 – before the proceedings began – pointed out in a general press release the due-diligence requirements of § 25 of the professional code of conduct and described so-called accommodation certificates / sham certificates without a verified medical diagnosis as not compliant with professional law. This general position forms the professional-law framework on which the prosecution relies. The Federal Medical Association and other chambers have issued no public statement on the Witzschel case.
The case of Dr. Bianca Sabine Witzschel has attracted attention both nationally and internationally. Coverage in mainstream and alternative media differs sharply:
On 10 January 2026, US Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. publicly criticized the criminal prosecution of critical doctors in Germany. Federal Health Minister Nina Warken defended the German judiciary on the same day – only a few weeks later Dr. Witzschel was forced to begin her sentence.
They largely adopt the prosecution’s reading of the verdict. t-online headlined its coverage with the disparaging label Reich Citizen doctor (Reichsbürger-Ärztin), the Radeburger Anzeiger documented the trial as taking place in a high-security courtroom (Hochsicherheits-Saal). The picture agency imago-images offers a photo series on the trial.
Dr. Witzschel currently faces professional and economic ruin. But she has a very loyal personal network that is always there for her and will do everything possible after her release to help her build a new life in freedom under dignified conditions.
In due course, the public will be asked to support her new beginning. How that will be possible will surely be announced by Dr. Witzschel in consultation with her personal network.
