Inadequate documentation under Section 18 of the Austrian Medical Practitioners Act (Ärztegesetz) in connection with the issuing of mask-exemption certificates.
At first I issued mask-exemption certificates only for my own patients, after a thorough examination. Following a request from an acquaintance who runs a YouTube channel with 100,000 followers, I then also issued certificates for many other people. In each case I questioned the person for 15 to 30 minutes, examined them physically where possible and obtained findings. I documented the examination results, but often not in detail; some of these were consultations via Skype.
The people concerned often came to me because their own doctors feared prosecution or sanctions by the medical association. Among them were, for example, people with asthma whose specialist had advised them to increase their cortisone dose so as to be able to wear a mask, people with claustrophobia, or children who got headaches when wearing a mask.
I also received a complaint because I had stated on my website that my shamanic knowledge informs my treatment. For me, this period was psychological terror.
Early retirement – connected with her wish to resign from the medical association, by which she felt in no way represented.
Nervous strain – from working days of up to twelve hours because of the many certificates, and from ever new complaints (twelve in total).
Sympathy from individual colleagues.
In spite of everything, I would definitely act in the same way again. Especially in these times, sincerity and authenticity are enormously important. I hope that this documentation helps the public learn what has happened to doctors in this country – and that something like this does not happen again. And I hope that doctors’ freedom of treatment will be constitutionally enshrined – a doctor should be able to decide for themselves how and with what to treat: freedom is the foundation of a life worthy of human dignity!
